"Hi, my name is Sonja! I joined FLVAC in September 2025. I currently work in healthcare in an administrative role, but I wanted to give back to my community in a more hands-on capacity. FLVAC has given me that opportunity!
Not having stepped into a classroom in almost 30 years, I was hesitant to begin this new venture. But I’m so glad I did! I’m grateful for the training and practical skills I’ve learned so far. The members at FLVAC have been so warm and welcoming, and have offered to help through every step!
Several members of my family are first responders - some here in Fair Lawn - and I’m honored and grateful to be a volunteer as well. I’m proof that it’s never too late to try something new. The challenge can be so rewarding!"
